Daily Insight – See people from different perspectivess
“If human beings are perceived as potentials rather than problems, as possessing strengths instead of weaknesses, as unlimited rather that dull and unresponsive, then they thrive and grow to their capabilities” -Robert Contin.
The most unfortunate thing in our relationship and dealing with other people is seeing them from wrong perspective. We quarrel and fight because most of us have stereotyped judgement of people. Most times, we also want people to behave in some ways without which we will term them unfriendly and evil. Most of us have set a very high standard we want people to maintain. Regrettably, we cannot even measure up to the standard we expect of others but we had at one point or another accused people of failing.
In the opinion of Robert in the above quotation, the world would be a better place when we begin to see people from different perspectives. He noted that when we begin to see potentials rather than problems, as possessing strengths instead of weaknesses, as unlimited rather that dull and unresponsive, then we will enjoy our relationship/friendship with them.
In one aphorisim of my people has it that no one is all round perfect. Every human being has one defect, fault, weakness or another. When we have this behind our minds, it will help to moderate our actions towards others and make our society a better place.
Today, in your office, business arena, school or neighbourhood, begin to see the potentials and strength in that person you will meet. Refuse the ministration of self and the devil that your boss, your staff, your colleagues, your fellow students, your neighbours and others around you can’t change. See the good in them and harness it. That person you despise may be the vessel that will hold the ladder you will climb with to greatness. Think about this. I wish you a great day.
